Mumbai-based V2 Info-tech, an integrated software solution provider, recently tied up with Denmark-based Danware, for exclusive South-East Asia rights for promoting its remote control systems. With this tie up, V2 Infotech, which previously catered only to the marine industry, plans to extend its services to other verticals as well. Said Vibha Bakshi, managing director, V2 Infotech, “The Danware remote management solution can be implemented across diverse verticals and on disparate platforms. The software supports all commonly used operating systems and communication protocols. In fact, companies that have already bought the solution represent various verticals and also vary in enterprise size.”

Danware, which specialises in remote control systems for PCs is best known for its flagship product NetOp 7.0 and the NetOp School. The NetOP 7.0 gives access to remote computers irrespective of the distance involved. Said Bakshi, “According to a Gartner Group report, companies can save up to Rs 3,500 per PC per year on travelling and other related expenses by using remote control technology.”

The software consists of two principal modules: the host and guest modules. The host module is installed on the computers to be accessed, while the guest module is installed on the administrators’ computer. Three additional modules Gateway, Name Server and Security Server offer specific extra services and features.

NetOp School, on the other hand, is a classroom-based training software, which comes in handy wherever there is a large conglomeration of PCs such as universities, schools and corporate training institutions. Said Bakshi, “NetOp School is designed to make computer-based teaching more effective. It enables instructors to perform online virtually all the tasks they can in a traditional class setting.”

At Rs 45,000 for 10 licenses, the product is priced at a fraction of the price of similar products in the market. V2 Infotech plans to make up for the low price through sheer volumes. In India, V2 Infotech plans to form alliances with resellers to further expand the reach of its range of products.

V2 Infotech has also formed an alliance with Denmark-based Navision. It plans to target the shipping industry with Navision’s end-to-end business solutions.
