acquires Sallie Mae Solutions
Sallie Mae Solutions India is now known as SCT Software Solutions
India. This follows the acquisition of Sallie Maes student
information systems business by SCT. Under the terms of the
agreement, SCT will acquire Sallie Maes student information
systems business for higher education. SCT has a customer
base of more than 1,300 institutions and eight million constituents.
This is the platform from which they will market their next
generation of products, including the entire suite of products
developed by SCT Software Solutions, Bangalore, on the Microsoft
.NET platform. SCT believes that the technical capabilities
of the products combined with SCTs reputation, commitment,
and marketing strength, will produce solutions that will be
unmatched in the marketplace.
Epson launches nationwide help line
Epson India has announced the launch of a toll free HelpLine
number - 1600 440011. Consumers can now get all the information
and support they require on Epson products from anywhere in
the country. The HelpLine will be functional from 9 a.m to
9 p.m throughout the week and also on all public holidays.
The HelpLine will address technical queries, provide information
on Epson products and dealers as well as ensure best-of-class
after sales support. In addition to this initiative, Epson
also has mobile vans in all major cities to provide customers
with technology support at their doorstep. This ensures that
service is provided in the shortest possible time.
SeE Consulting achieves neoQA certification
SeE Consulting has recently been awarded the neoQA certification
with a Level 3 assurance. neoQA is a specialised methodology
for assessing technology and business services suppliers.
Unlike standard industry certifications, the neoQA program
reviews the specific deliverable parameters that are direct
indicators as to whether a supplier can deliver on service
level agreements (SLAs) required for an outsourcing engagement.

Wind River delivers product support for Intel XScale
Wind River Systems has announced general availability of a
full suite of products supporting the latest Intel XScale
technology-based chips. Manufacturers building next-generation
solutions in networking, data storage, and other target markets
can leverage advanced software support from Wind River, including
the VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS), embedded networking
stacks and middleware, Tornado integrated development environment
(IDE) as well as hardware bring-up tools and hardware reference
designs. Through its centre of excellence partnership with
Intel, Wind River is able to support Intel processors with
market-leading product solutions at the same time new Intel
silicon is made available to customers.
Dynalog ties up with Moxa
Dynalog India has been appointed as a Value Added Reseller
(VAR) by Moxa Technologies. With this tie-up, Dynalog India
would distribute the entire range of Moxa products in India
and would also be in a position to offer a high quality of
sales and service support for Moxa products. Said Shrikant

will give us a more direct line of communication and enable
us to provide local users with more immediate technical support
and product maintenance services.
Cognizant Assessed at P-CMM Level 5
Cognizant has announced that it has been assessed at Level
5 of the P-CMM version 2.0, making it the first company to
be assessed at Level 5 across all its development centres
in India. Cognizant was assessed by an independent third party,
KPMG, whose assessment highlighted Cognizant's emphasis on
learning and development both at the individual and organisational
level. It also highlighted Cognizant's use of assessment centres,
quantitative management of people processes and practices,
empowerment of people, integration of workgroups, participatory
culture, mentoring and continuous capability improvement.
Auspex and HDS verify interoperability of SAN-NAS products
Auspex Systems and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) recently announced
the successful completion of interoperability tests of Auspexs
NSc3000 Network Storage Controller, a high-performance file
serving platform for NAS with Hitachi Freedom Storage, Lightning
9900 and Thunder 9200 systems. This will provide heterogeneous
connectivity when sharing a common storage array pool between
DAS, SAN, and NAS, giving customers the flexibility and freedom
to choose storage topologies that meet their specific business
and IT requirements. Customers can now consolidate their existing
storage into a single, easy-to-manage SAN-class storage pool
in both the mid-tier and enterprise environments. Auspexs
NSc3000 provides enterprise-level, high availability NAS functionality
for mission critical environments when attached to the Lightning
9900 Series systems and for mid-tier implementations with
the SAN-ready Thunder 9200 storage platform.
