ASMi-52 Modem

MRO-TEK has recently announced the launch of ASMi-52 G.SHDSL (high bit rate digital subscriber line) modem with remote management. The remote managed modem would facilitate control of all the modems connected through the network, operating from a single place. The ASMi-52 is the first intelligent modem and also the first in the range of i-series modems to be launched in India. This modem allows flexible configuration and supports multiple data rates and infrastructures, operating at speeds of up to 2.3 Mbps over 2-wire and up to 4.6 Mbps over 4-wire lines. It is available with Ethernet and most digital interfaces. The modem also features real-time alarms to alert users on fault with least downtime. This uses PAM-16 line coding, which is superior in noise immunity. Using an embedded operation channel (EOC) for controlling and monitoring the remote unit, the management channel uses G.HSDL overhead bits, operating without interfering with the data transmission in compliance with the ITU-T G.991.2 requirements. Interoperability is achieved because it is standards-based.

Barricade Plus Broadband Router

SMC has recently introduced the Barricade Plus Broadband Router (SMC7004FW), a platform independent multi-function router that combines a 4-port 10/100 Mbps dual speed switch, and a robust stateful inspection firewall into one convenient device. The Barricade Plus supports various network protocols, such as TCP/IP and NetBEUI, while also providing support for VPN connections with PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec passthrough. Supporting Network Address Translation (NAT), the Barricade can provide simultaneous Internet access for up to 253 PCs through a single IP address. To manage these connections, this NAT router has a built-in DHCP server to auto-assign IP addresses to devices on your network. By using the built-in Web-based interface, you can configure this router to handle IP routing and port forwarding through the Virtual Server option. For added management, the router also has a full-featured Access Control option. The integrated feature allows you to filter traffic through your network based on scheduled time, IP address, or MAC address. The firewall provides a high level of security against hacker invasions, such as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. It analyses individual data packets, as they pass through the Barricade, to ensure that only authorised packets are allowed access to your network. To control network access, parents or business owners can block certain websites by entering either a URL address or just a keyword of the website. In addition to these features, this latest addition to the Barricade family also provides hacker prevention and logging functionalities.

LOG Explorer

Log Explorer is an ideal database that provides the ability to view, audit and recover data for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and 2000 from native database transaction log. Log Explorer product consists of a server and client component. The server component accesses the database transaction log files and makes the log records available to client component. The client component interprets, filters, analyses, and presents the log information to the user. The Client component also generates SQL Scripts for selective data recovery and restores data from log files to SQL files or into Tables directly.

The Log Explorer helps to:
