NetBusiness forays into people outsourcing

Stanley Glancy / Mumbai

Raman Tikka

Organisations across the country constantly face shortage of technically skilled personnel willing to work on a project-to-project basis. Recognising the urgent need for a solution to this problem, Mumbai-based NetBusiness Solutions recently forayed into the people outsourcing business, which now forms a part of its business process outsourcing (BPO) division. Said Raman Tikka, executive director of the company, “Companies in the US and other western countries outsource work to Indian software services companies on a project-to-project basis. But IT professionals are unwilling to work on a short-term basis as they also want job security. Most companies find it uneconomical to let staff sit on the bench during lean days. We provide such companies with the option of partnering with us to meet their people needs.”

NetBusiness has a highly skilled workforce on its rolls that are allocated to the client company based on the requirements. The company, depending on the profile required by the client, provides additional training to its personnel. NetBusiness also holds technology upgradation courses for its employees, in the process creating an extra skillset base. Currently, people outsourcing contributes close to 55 percent of the company’s revenues. NetBusiness expects this vertical to account for close to 70 percent of its revenues by 2003. And this vision seems close to achieving fruition since NetBusiness can already boast of clients like TransWorks, SchoolNet and ILFS.

Other than people outsourcing, NetBusiness has also developed a product christened MANAGe, for managing a company’s HR initiatives. MANAGe has several modules incorporated into it, which take care of a company’s entire HR function including recruitment, leave management, payroll, attendance and administration.
