Global Energy’s GIS for GEB

Circuit EC / Hyderabad

Hyderabad-based Global Energy Consulting Engineers (GECE), an IT solutions provider offering consultancy services in the power sector, has executed a state-of-the-art GIS (geographical information system) for the distribution network of the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB), connecting 4.2 lakh consumers in Vadodara. The GIS integrated project was recently executed in Vadodara.

The company has already executed similar projects for Khammam, Nalgonda and Mehboobnagar towns of Andhra Pradesh under the DFID-funded Andhra Pradesh Energy Efficiency Project (APEEP). The model distribution project in Vadodara provides better customer service, improved reliability and quality of power supply. The system provides an asset management system, energy accounting and audit. About 2,300 km of distribution network in Vadodara was surveyed using the global positioning system.
