Mphasis bullish on Web services management

Stanley Glancy / Mumbai

Web services management, a space where even traditional rivals like Microsoft and IBM are collaborating, is the technology on which Mumbai-based Mphasis is now betting. Says Mohan Krishnan, CTO of Mphasis, “We believe Web services management (WSM) is the next big wave in the IT sector. Most Fortune 500 companies have already deployed applications built using this technology. We see huge potential for this technology as more and more organisations are adopting Web services to resolve software integration issues.” Mphasis claims it has already built thought leadership in this space. WSM is a set of standards for ensuring SLAs between different Web services.

Mphasis is also looking at providing clients with the benefits of virtual business process management. The company has put in place what it calls a virtual tax room (VTR), as part of its strategy to gain entry into higher value-added services. The VTR will provide back-office support to certified public accounting (CPA) firms in tax return preparation for US-based firms. Mphasis will invest in people, processes, infrastructure and facilities required to deliver high quality at lower cost.
