SAP Labs unveils new facility in Bangalore

SAP Labs in India has unveiled its new facility in Bangalore, which would be its largest development hub in the Asia-Pacific region. SAP Labs is one of the eight development facilities of SAP spread across the world. The new 21-acre facility, which has been built at a cost of 20 million euros, would at present house 750 employees, which would be increased to 1,500 by 2004.

The main focus of SAP Labs in India is devoted towards software development in areas that include mySAP Customer Relationship Management, solutions for the manufacturing and distribution industries, SAP NetWeaver and mobile solutions. In India SAP has 400 customers, of which 150 are in the small and medium enterprise segment.

Claus Neumann, managing director of SAP Labs India said, “SAP Labs India is committed to the development and integration of new initiatives, technologies and capabilities in SAP business solutions for small, mid-size and large organisations.”
